{"id":432,"date":"2024-08-13T03:45:58","date_gmt":"2024-08-13T03:45:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mytradingland.com\/uni\/?p=432"},"modified":"2025-01-21T10:31:28","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T10:31:28","slug":"moving-average-convergence-divergence-macd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mytradingland.com\/uni\/moving-average-convergence-divergence-macd\/","title":{"rendered":"Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"928\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IzUD4POv2b0\" title=\"What Is MACD Indicator In Forex Trading\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The MACD is a technical indicator used in finding trends in their infant stage of formation.<br \/>\nMACD indicator is made up of 4 important parts:<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>MACD Line<\/li>\n<li>Signal Line<\/li>\n<li>Middle Line (Zero Line)<\/li>\n<li>Histogram<\/li>\n<\/div>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When the MACD line crosses the signal line from bottom-up, the histogram turns green indicating buying potential.<\/p>\n<p>When the MACD line crosses the signal line from the top-down, the histogram colour turns red indicating selling potential.<\/p>\n<p>The MACD line is formed by subtracting the Exponential Moving Average (EMA) for 12 previous candles from the EMA of 26 previous candles, then plotting it in a graph.<\/p>\n<p>The Signal Line is formed by taking an EMA or SMA of 9 previous MACD line figures.<\/p>\n<p>The Histogram displays how far apart both MACD &#038; Signal Lines are from each other. The further apart these lines are, the larger the histogram. <\/p>\n<p>The Zero Line is there as a reference point so that the histogram oscillates\/revolves around it.  <\/p>\n<h4><strong>How to Trade with MACD Indicator<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>For a green histogram, ensure the MACD line crosses the signal line from beneath the zero line before you open a buy order. This will help you to be sure the potential upward trend will be sustained.<\/p>\n<p>For a red histogram, the lines should cross each other above the zero line before you open a sell order so you can be sure the potential downtrend will be sustained.<\/p>\n<p>The limitation of the MACD indicator is that it depends on Exponential Moving Averages, which don\u2019t usually smoothen out all the market noise caused by small meaningless candles. <\/p>\n<p>So you may get false breaks when markets are highly volatile. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The MACD is a technical indicator used in finding trends in their infant stage of formation.
