Australia's Unemployment Rate Held at 4.3% in November

Australia’s labour market held steady in November 2025. The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported that the unemployment rate decreased to 4.3% in trend terms. The participation rate remained steady at 66.8% while the employment-to-population ratio held at 63.9%. Underemployment rate also remained unchanged at 5.9% while youth unemployment stayed at 10.0%, with unemployed persons slightly falling to 665,800. Employment increased by 21,000 people (0.1%) to 14,677,700, and monthly hours worked rose to 1,994 million hours. In seasonally adjusted terms, unemployment rate remained at 4.3%, while participation rate dropped to 66.7%, and employment fell to 14,655,700. The underemployment rate increased to 6.2%, and monthly hours worked decreased to 1,996 million. Full-time jobs decreased by 56,500 to 10,076,800, while part-time employment rose by 35,200 to 4,578,900.
