The European Central Bank (ECB) has decided to keep the three key interest rates unchanged, citing a resilient economy and a medium-term inflation outlook of 2%. This decision reflects the bank's confidence in the current monetary policy stance, despite ongoing global trade policy uncertainty and geopolitical tensions. The ECB's Governing Council emphasized its commitment to ensuring inflation stabilizes at the 2% target, adopting a data-dependent and meeting-by-meeting approach to future rate decisions. With low unemployment, solid private sector balance sheets, and supportive public spending, the economy remains resilient. The interest rates on the deposit facility, main refinancing operations, and marginal lending facility will remain at 2.00%, 2.15%, and 2.40% respectively.
