Eurozone GDP Rises 0.3% in Q3 2025

The euro area's GDP grew by 0.3% in the third quarter of 2025, up from 0.1% in the previous quarter, according to Eurostat. The EU's GDP also increased, rising by 0.4% compared to 0.3% in Q2. Compared to the same quarter last year, GDP increased by 1.4% in the euro area and 1.6% in the EU. Employment in the euro area rose by 0.2% and by 0.1% in the EU. The highest GDP growth was recorded in Denmark (+2.3%), Luxembourg and Sweden (both +1.1%), while Ireland, Finland (both -0.3%), and Romania (-0.2%) saw declines. Growth was supported by higher household spending (+0.2%), government expenditure (+0.7%), and a rebound in investment, with gross fixed capital formation up 0.9% in the euro area and 1.1% in the EU. Exports increased by 0.7% in the euro area and 0.9% in EU, while imports increased by 1.3% in both regions.
