Eurozone Trade Surplus Widens to €5.0bn, Beating Forecasts in July
The Eurozone's seasonally adjusted trade surplus expanded from €1.0bn in June to €5.0bn in July, exceeding the €2.5bn forecast. Exports rose 1.2% to €260.8bn while imports fell 0.4% to €255.7bn. The EU trade deficit also narrowed significantly from €5.9bn to €1.4bn, signaling improved external demand but year-to-date cushion has collapsed.
