France Preliminary CPI Rises to 3.4% Year-on-Year in October, Above 3.3% Forecast

France’s preliminary October CPI reportedly increased to 3.4% year-on-year, above the 3.3% forecast and previous 3.1%. Monthly CPI rose 0.4%, exceeding the 0.2% forecast. The EU-harmonised CPI also increased, reaching 3.8% year-on-year against expectations of 3.6%. These figures indicate stronger-than-expected inflationary pressure in France.
