France targets €54 billion in 2027 savings as 10-year yield hits 4.95%, highest since 2002
France has proposed €54 billion in savings for its 2027 budget, including €43 billion in new measures, as the government seeks to reduce its deficit and ease pressure in bond markets. France’s 10-year borrowing cost has risen to 4.95%, while the France-Germany 10-year yield spread has widened to around 150 basis points, its highest level since the 2012 euro-zone debt crisis.
