Germany's manufacturing sector rose modestly in October 2025, with new orders up 1.5% from September, according to Destatis. This increase followed a revised 2.0% rise in September and came despite new orders falling 0.7% from a year earlier. The growth is attributed to the "manufacture of other transport equipment" sector, which includes aircraft, ships, trains, and military vehicles, where orders jumped 87.1% due to a large-scale order. Excluding large-scale orders, new orders increased 0.5%. Basic metals also rose 11.9% and capital goods orders rose 4.9% while electrical equipment (-16.2%) intermediate goods dropped (-3.4%) and consumer goods (-2.2%), all dropped. Domestic orders increased 9.9%, offsetting a 4% drop in foreign orders. Turnover in manufacturing grew 0.3% month-on-month and fell 1.6% year-on-year.
