Despite US military strikes on Kharg Island last week, Iran's oil production and exports continue without interruption, a spokesperson for the country's parliamentary energy commission said Tuesday. Kharg Island serves as Iran's main oil export hub, handling 90% of the OPEC member's oil shipments, making it one of the most strategically critical energy facilities in the world. The spokesperson, also a lawmaker quoted by the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, confirmed that daily life on the island is continuing as usual. The official also renewed Iran's threat that any foreign attack on Kharg Island would result in consequences described as a greater blow than the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, where Tehran has already blocked passage of vessels linked to the US, Israel, and their allies, severely disrupting global oil supplies.
