Lebanon was drawn into the widening U.S.-Israeli war with Iran after Hezbollah fired into Israel, prompting heavy Israeli strikes across southern and eastern Lebanon and a raid deep into Lebanese territory that left 41 dead. The conflict has since escalated sharply, with Israel's military targeting Iranian commanders in Beirut on Sunday in the first drone strike within the capital's city limits since hostilities resumed. Israel said it struck five senior members of Iran's elite Quds Force, including intelligence and finance personnel. Lebanon's health ministry reported four people killed in that strike, with ten others injured in Beirut's Raouche area. The overall death toll in Lebanon has reached 394, including at least 83 children and 42 women. Israel's military has killed approximately 200 Hezbollah fighters, while two Israeli soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon, the first Israeli military casualties since the war began.
