OPEC Raises 2027 Oil Demand Forecast to 2.6 Million Bpd Growth

OPEC lifted its 2027 global oil demand growth forecast to 2.6 million barrels per day from 200,000 bpd this year, pushing average demand to 108.3 million bpd. The surge includes inventory rebuilding beyond organic consumption growth. This supports crude prices and strengthens CAD; energy costs remain a backdrop for BOC rate-path repricing ahead of Macklem speeches on 14 and 16 October.
