Odesa, Ukraine's major Black Sea port city, has been a repeated target of Russian attacks throughout the war that began with Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022, now more than four years ago. The city plays a critical role in Ukrainian exports, making it strategically significant. On Monday, Ukrainian officials confirmed another overnight Russian drone strike hit the city, wounding 10 people, including two children. The worst damage struck the central Prymorskyi district, where residential buildings, a hotel, and city center facilities were heavily hit. Most of the wounded were found in that area. Serhiy Lysak, head of the local military administration, described it as "an extremely difficult night," adding that high-rise residential buildings, private homes, and vehicles were also struck across two additional districts of the city.
