U.S. President Donald Trump could decide to withdraw from the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) next year, according to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. The USMCA, which replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement in 2020, is up for review after six years. Greer stated that Trump wants a "good deal" and the review period was built into the agreement to allow for revisions, review or exit. Greer also mentioned the possibility of negotiating separate deals with Canada and Mexico and dividing the agreement into two parts. This comes after Trump said that the USMCA will either be left to expire or a new deal will be worked out. The White House, Canadian, and Mexican governments have not commented on the matter.
