Best time to trade crypto in Australia
For me it depends on the crypto pairing and the quote currency in the pair. If I want to trade BTC/USD pair then I do so during the New York session (from 10 PM in the night till 3 AM early in the morning in Australian time) when American liquidity providers will be awake and active. However, If I want to trade a crypto pair like BTC/GBP I do it during the London session etc.

I trade crypto either at the start of the London session or at the overlap of the London NY sessions. Crypto can also be traded during weekends but you'd have to be really desperate to do that because you wont see much action.
Let me also add that one of the worst times to trade crypto in Australia & anywhere on the planet is during or immediately after major news releases (like NFP or CPI news).
Crypto paired with USD needs a lot of liquidity so I best trade it during NY or at the start of Frankfurt
The online trading market opens first in New Zealand and two hours late, the Sydney Australia session opens. Unfortunately, when New Zealand & Sydney sessions are open, the rest of the world is still asleep or at least other sessions are closed. So, if you are to trade crypto from Australia, you have to do it when other sessions are open. I prefer the New York session because crypto is really strong in the USA and most of the liquidity comes from there.

Agreed.
For crypto trading from Australia, the NY session is still the best pick for liquidity and real momentum – most volume and institutional money flows through US exchanges then.
My suggestions:
- Trade the NY open (your ~11:30 pm – 5 am AEST) if you can stay up or use alerts.
- London open (your morning) is a solid second choice for decent European volume without the full US grind.
- Watch the London-NY overlap (your ~2–5 am) for the highest liquidity spikes of the day.
- Set alerts or use a 24/7 bot/scanner so you don’t have to stare at charts all night.
That way you catch the real moves without forcing yourself into dead Asian sessions.
