GER40 Trading Setup Today

Trade Idea Summary:

I'll look for a short setup on GER40 after spotting a high probability reversal zone.

Why I entered this trade:

1. Higher Timeframe Resistance

Clear resistance level visible on both the 4H and 2H timeframes. Price had been struggling to break above this area.

2. Liquidity Sweep + Market Structure Shift (MSS)

On the lower timeframes (15min & 5min), we saw a classic sweep of liquidity above the resistance. Price wicked above the high, took out the stop hunts/liquidity, then immediately showed a Break of Structure (BOS) to the downside. This is a strong sign that the buyers are getting exhausted.

3. POI (Point of Interest) Alignment

The area above the resistance acted as a high-quality POI (supply zone). After the sweep and MSS, I’m expecting price to reverse and retrace back down toward the next demand area / lower liquidity pool.

4. Strategy: Candle Range Theory (CRT)

This setup fits the CRT framework perfectly sweep of highs, liquidity grab, followed by displacement and change of character.

Current Status:

Sell Limit is placed at 24,351.1. Waiting for price to retrace up into the zone to fill the order.

Risk Management:

- Tight stop above the recent high (24,358.8)

- Targeting the recent lows and liquidity pool below (~24,229 area)

I’ll update the community once the order fills or if anything changes.

I got stopped out on this trade.

In as much as my narrative and story around this setup was well built, I still got stopped out.

Best time to trade GER40 is from 8:00 am till 5:30 PM when the Xetra Frankfurt stock exchange is open.
