why does metatrader look so boring

When i started trading i used to avoid metatrader and instead stuck to trading on my brokers mobile app because metatrader looked so boring and outdated. Now, i'm genuinely curious why is metatrader's design & user interfaace so boring, what cant they update it?

I guess because alot of the fancy features were sacrificed for the speed and stability which metatrader is known for. I also think the makers of metatrader didnt want to gamify trading hence they made the user interface to look very "official" so as to potray the seriousness that trading deserves.

But, beginners who are scared of metatraders serious look can also try TradingView which has a more userfriendly platform while retaining speed and stability.

I used to feel the same way about metatrader when i began trading but with time i realized metatraders bland user interface void of any fancy designs makes it lightweight and easy to install/uninstall plus metatrader starts up faster than most trading platforms. Once you open the metatrader app, it initializes fast so you dont miss out on a trade.

If you look at a rival trading platform like cTrader, it is so heavy and takes several minutes to install. Even when you open cTrader it doesnt load as fast as metatrader does thus if you are in a hurry to place a trade you may not meet up.
