easyMarkets Minimum Deposit: What Kenyan Traders Should Know
easyMarkets is one of the cheaper brokers to start with. You can open a Standard account with just $25, about KES 3,200, on the web and app platform, MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5. The Premium tier needs $2,000 and VIP needs $10,000, and both come with tighter spreads and extra features.
Pros for Kenyan traders
The low entry point is the main draw. With $25 you can test the platform with real money and not risk much. Deposits and withdrawals are free, and there’s no inactivity fee, so a small account won’t slowly shrink while you aren’t trading.
easyMarkets also has risk tools that suit beginners. Negative balance protection means you can’t lose more than you deposited. dealCancellation lets you reverse a losing trade within a set window for a fee. Kenyans can fund accounts through M-Pesa, which would make deposits quick.
Cons for Kenyan traders
The biggest drawback is regulation. easyMarkets isn’t licensed by Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority. Its licences are from CySEC, ASIC and offshore regulators in Seychelles and the British Virgin Islands. Kenyan clients are usually served by an offshore entity, which gives weaker protection and fewer ways to complain than a CMA-licensed broker would.
Currency is another cost. Accounts can't to be held in shillings, so each deposit and withdrawal may be converted, and those conversion fees add up on small balances.
Finally, $25 gets you the Standard account, which has the widest spreads: around 1.7–1.8 pips on EUR/USD. Guaranteed stop losses are only available on the higher tiers. The very high leverage, up to 1:2000 on MT5, can also drain a small account quickly.
Verdict: easyMarkets is a cheap, beginner-friendly way to start, but Kenyan traders should weigh the convenience against having no local regulatory protection.
