ctrader vs mt4 which is the better choice?

Hi all, I would like to know what you think about mt4 and cTrader platforms when it comes to online trading (not just forex trading) and which of the platforms you would pick if push came to shove.

I have traded with MT4 & cTrader and I got to tell you, cTrader is the future. Now, MT4 was basically designed for currency trading but today we have all these other new asset classes such as synthetic indices, stocks, crypto etc. and MT4 is not really designed to host trading of these assets.

MT4 also lacks several modern tools like an economic calendar, good bulk order management etc. and the number of timeframes and pending orders are lesser on MT4; all these things affect the quality of your trading experience negatively.

This is not to say cTrader does not have its limitations for example cTrader was designed for raw spread accounts (ECN Accounts) so if you are someone that is not comfortable paying commissions you're gonna have to use MT4.

So, as far as trading several asset classes & advanced order management is concerned I would say cTrader is better than MT4.

Here's my take: the only aspect where mt4 outshines cTrader is algorithmic trading/Expert Advisor use.

Because more brokers offer mt4, they are able to place their servers near mt4 servers thus guaranteeing faster execution speed and lower latency and this translates to better performance of expert advisors.

On all other aspects, cTrader outperforms mt4 totally. I think the fair enough comparison should be between cTrader and mt5.
