Swing trading has its peculiar risks, and FTMO knows this so they created the FTMO swing account to address these risks. An example of swing trading risk is when you open a trade and leave it open over the weekend and b th time you check on Monday, the price has gapped upwards/downwards. Such a gap can throw you into multiple pips of profit or multiple pips of loss.
The gap could be caused by news events that are priced into the market when it opens the next day. Because of this, FTMO lowered the leverage on the swing account so that you cannot open very big positions when swing trading and this is a form of risk management not only for you but also for FTMO. They need to protect their bottom line
Trading a small lot size is not worthwhile because you stress yourself, spend hours in front of charts and come out with peanuts
Its hard to be patient with a small lot size because you wait and wait and you dont really make any real money. I prefer trading a big lot size making reasonable profit and checking out fast
Only trade with money you can afford to lose, there's no shame in doing 0.01 lot size if that's what your pocket can carry. You see, when you cannot afford to lose the money you're trading with, it makes it difficult to close a losing trade and the loss keeps increasing till the broker steps in and closes the trade for you
Yeah, don't take high-risk trades which will require you placing a wide stop loss. Take only low-risk entries with tight stop so you know quickly if you are right/wrong and you dont lose both your money and your time
So after you wait one week to be filled in, if the trade ends up in a loss you wait another one week for a new setup? What kind of trading is that
This is actually a good question, but once you uninstall MT5 from your current system, all indicators should be lost too. Try installing the indicator via MT5 web and you should be able to carry it over to your new laptop
Trading has clusters of goodluck days and badluck days. The days you take out to rest could be the good luck days and then you return on the badluck day and lose everything
Its very hard for an average retail trader to find a real edge because they do not have access to high-level algorithms that help search through historical data and extract market behavior that can be used as an edge.
Yes @massasi princess, people soon gonna figure out its better to lose to the market than to lose to a corporation that has rigged the game against you. EIther that or regulators gonna step in and say enough is enough
Thanks for your replies. For me, real traders avoid the limelight, they don't like to be known. They also trade peculiar strategies which are not widely known. They dont do what the 95% losing traders do.
Some battles have to be fought more than once before they can be won. Some trades have to be taken more than once before you catch the trend. The problem with signals is that once you record a loss, the signal provider doesn't send you another one to enter the same trade. So, most times once a signal doesnt work we feel cheated, but it is just that sometimes you need to try more than once.
