NAS100 lot size calculation for prop accounts

If you trade NAS100 especially those who trade it with prop firms, knowing the right lot size to trade in your prop account can make the difference between making it to payout or losing your account. Those who trade prop accounts will understand what I mean. The NAS100 lot size you use for a $10k evaluation account is not the same one you use for a $100k evaluation.

Understanding the NAS100 lot size calculation is crucial to risk management so you don't over leverage and blow your account. I will be showing you how I calculate lot size for NAS100 when trading prop accounts

$50k Prop Account: NAS100 Lot Size = 10

For a $50k prop account, I always do 10 standard lots per trade. My TP target is always 10 pips max to ensure proper risk management.

This means that for a $10k prop account I will also do 2 standard lots per trade while aiming for 10 pips profit

LEVERAGE CONSIDERATIONS

You also need to take note of how much leverage the prop firm allows and if the prop firm charges commissions on NAS100. The higher the NAS100 leverage, the bigger the lot size you can open per trade..

Most day trading prop accounts have a higher leverage than the swing accounts because the swing accounts are designed for holding trades over the weekend and this carried more risk.

The more the risk, the lower the leverage the prop firm will allow
