what is considered a whale in crypto?

Why is the term "whale" used in crypto circles, is it a reference to some category of crypto investors?

Crypto whales are investors who bought and hold a significant amount of crypto (I would say from 100,000 units of crypto and above) such that if they decide to dump the impact would be massively felt in the market. I hear Chanpeng Zhao or "CZ" of Binance is one of the Bitcoin whales.

In crypto, a whale is an individual or entity that holds a large amount of a specific cryptocurrency, enough to significantly influence the market through their trades. I recently began trading

A crypto whale is an entity or individual holding significant amount of cryptocurrency enough to affect liquidity and move prices.

For example, if someone holds 10,000 Btc and decides to sell all, the price of bitcoin will sharply drop. That individual is a whale.
