Weekly Close Overview

The EUR/USD exchange rate settled near 1.1160 to close out October. Despite a sharp mid-week short squeeze that briefly lifted the pair to a 3-day peak of 1.1181 following central bank decisions, pervasive safe-haven flows pushed the greenback back into control on Friday. The pair remains down roughly 0.76% for the month and over 3.2% year-over-year.
