closed my buy trade before news was released only for price to skyrocket

I took a buy trade on an instrument and just before the news was released I exit the position with 20 pips profit. But after the news came out price rallied nearly 60 pips now I am regretting. Did I make the right choice?

Should have just secured some profit or waiteded at breakeven then allow the trade to run.

Yeah I would do the same, Its about cultivating good habits and nit just about success on one trade.

Sincerely you did the right thing cos no one can precisely predict the direction of the market during the news. It’s always better to preserve what the market has given you and wait for another opportunity to present itself. There are numerous opportunities in the market.
