how do i set the correct time zone on my trading platform?

I use the TradingView platform from Nigeria and since my time zone is UTC+1; to make the change I just clicked on the time at the bottom right corner of the screen and changed it to UTC+1. Hope this helps!!!

For MetaTrader its default time zone is usually set to the time of the country where the brokers servers are located. If your brokers server is in London, then their MetaTrader time zone will be set to GMT by default. For MetaTrader, find out where your brokers server is located and do a manual conversion to your time zone.

You may need to contact your MetaTrader broker to move you to a new server that aligns with your timezone. On TradingView you can simply change it by editing the time zone settings but on MetaTrader it is more complicated. This one reason why TradingView is so popular!!!

Select UTC+1 London (not UTC+1 Lagos). Always work with the London time. TradingView & cTrader allow you change time zone but MetaTrader does not. You will always see the time zone displayed below the charts at the bottom of the screen, so just click on the time zone and select a new one and it will change.
