spotting a real trader

With 95% of traders lying about their performance and claiming to be profitable, how can one spot a real trader from the crowd? I mean literally if you were to meet a real trader what are the things he/she will do to make you know they may be real traders?

For me real traders don't give assurances, once you hear a trader say his strategy yields a sure 80% return just know he is lying. In the investment world it is forbidden to use the word "guarantee"

Real traders are quiet and process-focused.

They rarely brag about wins but openly discuss risk rules, drawdowns, and why a trade failed. Ask for a verifiable track record (broker statements, audited P&L, or third-party verified stats), real ones can usually show it without hesitation.

They talk probabilities, position sizing, and edge, not “I turned $1k into $50k last month.” If someone dodges questions about losses or pushes signals/courses hard, they’re likely fake.

Consistency and humility are the best tells.
