US. Federal Reserve FOMC Meeting To Hold Today & Tomorrow

The Federal Reserve FOMC Meeting is beginning today. The 2-day meeting will see a decision made on whether to increase interest rates (currently around 5.5%) or slash the rates.

The meeting will be followed by a press conference where Governor Jerome Powell will speak to reporters on the outcome however, the minutes of the meeting will be ready on 21 August 2024.

The United States Federal reserve bank has concluded its 2-day FOMC meeting & after a vote, they have decided to leave interest rates unchanged.

Speaking at the press conference, Federal Reserve Governor Jerome Powell said United States interest rates remain around 5.25 to 5.5% and no changes have been made.

He said, the target of the US government is to lower inflation to its ideal 2% target.
