welcome bonus vs deposit bonus: what is the difference?

Hi everyone, I know this question may seem trivial but does welcome bonus mean the same thing as deposit bonus?

The welcome bonus is only for new clients who just made their first deposit, while the deposit bonus is for both old/new clients who make a deposit.

I think the welcome bonus is a one-time offer for new customers while the deposit bonus is open to all customers who make a deposit. However, keep in mind that neither bonus is withdrawable, you can only withdraw profits made from trading with the bonus.

Deposit bonus applies every time you make a deposit. But remember that you cannot withdraw the bonus, only profits realized from trading with the bonus can be withdrawn. However the bonus acts as a buffer, adding to your free margin and allowing you to set a wider stop loss.

1. Welcome Bonus

A welcome bonus is a reward given just for opening a new account with a broker.

Key points:

Often no deposit required

Usually small (e.g., $5–$30)

Meant for beginners to test the platform

Withdrawals usually restricted — you may be able to withdraw profits only after meeting trading conditions

Meant for practice, not real income

⭐ 2. Deposit Bonus

A deposit bonus is a bonus you get after putting your own money into the account.

Key points:

Requires you to make a deposit

Bonus size depends on how much you deposit (e.g., 20%, 50%, 100% extra)

Often has strict trading volume requirements

You usually can’t withdraw the bonus itself

Designed to increase your trading balance
