They can increase the spread while you are in a trade, they can refuse to allow you close a winning trade etc.
Well said, and this is why it is important for a trader to be well capitalized, because if you didnt have enough funds left in your account to go short, you would not have been able to take the successful short trades which helped you recoup some losses.

Bro study brokers P&L statement every year, study their income statement; some brokers are not as liquid as you think. Consistent big profits can put some of them out of business, how much do you think they make from spread? in a year some brokers don't make up to $10 million profit, where will they see money to pay you if you make profits in millions steadily? kicking you out is a better option for them instead of them risking paying you big profits always.
