XTB has no minimum deposit for South African traders, so you can open a live account and fund it with any amount. Both the Standard and Swap-Free accounts follow this rule. That suits beginners who want to try a well-known broker without committing a large sum upfront.
South African residents are served by XTB International Limited, one of the few non-EU entities XTB still uses to onboard clients. Before going live, you can practise on a free demo account preloaded with virtual funds.
XTB doesn’t offer ZAR base accounts, so you’ll need to choose from currencies such as USD, EUR or GBP. Your rand deposit is converted when you fund the account, and XTB doesn’t cover your bank’s exchange costs. Bank transfers and card deposits (Visa, Mastercard and Maestro) are free on XTB’s side. E-wallet deposits through Paysafe (formerly Skrill) carry a 2% fee.
Withdrawals by bank transfer are generally free and usually processed within one business day. Keep in mind that a $10 monthly inactivity fee applies if you don’t trade for 12 months. To get the most from a small deposit, trade with a sensible position size and use risk management tools such as stop-loss orders.
