Can an MT4 Account Work on MT5 ?

If I open an MT4 Account am I going to be able to use it to trade on the MT5 desktop, web or mobile platform?

No, you cannot use your MT4 account login detais to login to an MT5 terminal and vice versa.

When you opt to open an MT4 Account it means you want to use it to trade exclusively on the MT4 platform. If you want to trade on the MT5 platform then you must open an MT5 Account.

mt4 account is for mt4 trading terminal, and mt5 platform is for mt5 trading terminal. You cannot interchange because both terminals operate differently in terms of mechanics.

No, it cant. MT4 trading accounts are exclusive to the MT4 software.

No, MT4 accounts are limited to the MT4 software only. If you want to use the MT5 platform, then you must open an MT5 account. Let me digress a bit, the same goes for the TradingView platform, to use it you must open a TradingView or cTrader account type.

Yes, brokers like Pepperstone, IC markets, FxPro; allow that configuration

MT4 accounts can only be used on the MT4 trading software. MT4 is being phased out so their users had better open MT5 accounts if they want to keep using MetaTrader
