if i get stopped out of a trade, should i jump in again?

Let's assume you are in a trade, and your stop loss is hit what will you do? Will you get back in again or will you wait a while?

If after I get stopped out i discover my daily loss limit has been reached, I will not enter again. But if it has not been reached and price started going in my favor after i was stopped out, then I will enter again & place a wider stop loss than i did the first time.

I always place my stop loss very far away and if by some miracle the price manages to reach it and trigger it then I wount trade again.

I will not jump back in immediately.

This is the biggest mistake new traders make.

When a stop loss hits, your emotions are high.

Jumping in again usually leads to:

revenge trading

overtrading

bigger losses

Your stop loss was hit for a reason — the market didn’t agree with your setup.

For me I think it depends on the circumstances. I can jump back into a trade after my SL is hit but I will trade in the opposite direction and not in the same direction. The logic behind this is when I take a trade and I see that I was wrong I dont jump out prematurely I wait for SL to be hit after which I trade the opposite direction of strength. If I bought then I notice the market is trending downward, I will just wait for my SL to be hit then reverse direction.
