Hi guys, I created this thread to test NFP trading strategies both live and historically.

Thread Rules:

1.Please don't post anything that does not have to do with NFP here

2.Please backup anything you say with a chart image (no random comments)

3. All backtesting should be properly dated for reference

4.No swing trading, just day trading

5.No ICT jargon, speak in a language we will all understand

The NFP Strategy

After NFP is released, switch to the 15-minute timeframe, and wait for the first 15M candle to form. The high/low of the 15 M NFP candle acts as resistance/support respectively.

FRI 07 AUG 2026 Backtest

The first 15M candle that forms after the NFP release should be noted, and its high and low should act as key levels of resistance/support

Please what is the windows shortcut key for searching calendar dates on TradingView?

THU 02 JULY 2026 Backtest

On this day, the 15M NFP candle was bullish, and the play was to sell after price rejected at the high of the NFP candle.

Exit strategy here is to hold the sell trade till price drops to the low of the NFP candle before exiting.

FRI 5th JUNE 2026 Backtest

For this NFP day, it was different because price broke out of the 15M NFP candle low, tried to reverse upwards but sellers pushed price down. So the play here would be to look for a bearish reversal pattern on the 5-minute time frame and sell accordingly.

On Friday price tested the low of the NFP candle before the weekend break, and on Monday price went upwards and broke through the high of the NFP candle.

FRI 2nd OCT 2026 LIVE

After NFP was released this afternoon, I went to the 5 minute time frame for Gold and marked out the high and low of the first 5 min candle that formed after NFP release. Once price broke out of the NFP-low range, I went short and placed my SL above the lower NFP line
