prop firms are good leverage for traders in terms of capital and ensuring discipline which is a core area of every profitable trader. Below are the major advantages:

1. Trade larger capital than your personal funds.

2. Your personal money is not fully at risk.

3. Access to better trading tools and platforms.

4. Builds discipline and trading skills.

5. Possibility of scalable growth (account increases with performance).

Prop firm trading can be interesting, but it still comes with risks and should be done carefully.

Do prop firms really give access to better trading platforms than brokers do? Some prop firms are not on MT5, i am not sure of any ones on TradingView, and some prop firms dont allow you use expert advisors; so its debatable.

i stated a better trading platform cos of the one i use. my current prop firm gives access to MT5 and Match trader. I actually prefer Match trader to MT5. The platform is so easy to navigate.

Prop firms are good platform to practice risk management. Their rules helps you in risk management if you choose to comply. For instance, their daily drawdown helps you to know their a limit to trading everyday. For instance, some firms have daily drawdown to be 3% meaning you can’t lose more than 3% or else your account will be lost. This is risk management.

Yes, it is just that some times the rules can be confusing. For example some prop firms have ambigous rules as per what constitutes illegal trading. They can just shift the goal post anytime and accuse you of illegal trading especially when you make huge profits.

You are actually right about this. This is why I advise withdrawing your profit little by little instead of compounding it.

FTMO gives you the option of rollingover your payout so it becomes part of your trading account balance LOL. I wonder who will be stupid enough to do that.
