Why was September 2025 NFP not released as scheduled?

Hi everyone! I was expecting to trade the September 2025 nfp news release today, only for it not to be released. Any idea why nfp was not released according to schedule?

The United States government has shut down due to Democrats & Republican politicians fighting over what and what not to include in their spending bill and this is why the NFP report wont be released today.

The September 2025 NFP report — normally due the first Friday in October — was delayed because the U.S. federal government shut down at the start of October.

🏛️ What Happened:?

The U.S. federal government ran out of funding on October 1, 2025 after lawmakers failed to pass a spending bill.

When the government shuts down, many federal agencies stop operations because funding is paused.

One of the agencies affected was the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) — the agency that produces the monthly labor market reports, including NFP.

Because the BLS could not operate normally, it suspended the collection and release of economic data, including the September NFP.

So, the September report wasn’t published on its usual Friday date because the agency that prepares and publishes it couldn’t function during the shutdown.
