what factors affect natural gas prices in the uk
Replied 2 weeks ago -
Wind farms are built in/on the ocean and they generate electricity and transmit/distribute it to homes to power their heaters. These wind farms depend on strong winds so when the wind speed in the ocean slows, the electricity output declines causing residents to resort to using Nattural Gas to heat their homes thus this increased demand for gas drives up the price.

if a New Zealand milk exporter increases its payout to dairy farmers will NZD/USD appreciate?
Replied 2 weeks ago -
How this can affect NZD/USD
📈 Possible NZD-supportive effects (medium term)
Stronger export competitiveness
If Fonterra’s sustainability measures result in higher-quality, premium-export dairy, that supports export revenue → can support NZD.
Improved investor perception of NZ sustainability
NZ already has a strong ESG profile; further improvements can attract foreign investment → mildly NZD-positive.
📉 Possible NZD-negative effects (short term)
Higher cost structure for Fonterra
If costs rise before revenue benefits kick in, Fonterra’s margins may tighten → slight negative pressure on NZD sentiment.
Reduced supply if some farmers cannot meet standards
If production temporarily slows due to compliance costs, export volumes may dip → potentially NZD-negative.

hawkish vs dovish: what do these terms mean in finance?
Replied 2 weeks ago -
What Does “Dovish” Mean?
A dovish central bank wants to cut interest rates or keep them low.
✔️ What they are trying to do:
Boost the economy
Encourage spending and borrowing
✔️ How it affects markets:
Currency usually weakens (lower rates reduce investor demand)
Stocks may rise because borrowing becomes cheaper
✔️ Example:
“A dovish stance from the Bank of Japan means they may lower rates.”

Is there a way to predict nfp direction?
Replied 2 weeks ago -
It is highly dependent on the broker you are using, most low tier brokers will fail to execute the pending order but most tier-1 regulated brokers will always execute it although sometimes it may be executed at an inferior price. So, yea the pending order will get triggered but mind you the spreads are always high on such transactions.

what happens to stock prices of EU companies if the Euro weakens?
Replied 2 weeks ago -
Some EU company stocks may fall or struggle
This mainly affects companies that import a lot or rely heavily on materials priced in dollars (like oil, metals, electronics components).
Examples:
Airlines (fuel costs rise)
Retailers importing goods
Energy companies dependent on USD-priced commodities
Why?
Imports become more expensive
Profit margins shrink
Higher costs → pressure on stock price

is the heatwave in Europe going to affect financial markets?
Replied 7 months ago -
The heatwave in Europe is expected to end in a few weeks so I don't think it will do much damage to the economy of the affected countries. However, like Paul said, commodity prices will certainly rise.

which U.S. public holidays affect banks & stock exchanges
Replied 7 months ago -
Today is a major holiday in the U.S. as they celebrate their independence. I am not going to trade the new york session because there will be poor liquidity and stop losses will be hit easily as the market tries to look for liquidity from clients
