I trade US30 and my best time to enter the market is not during the London-New York session overlap, but after the London session has closed and the New York session holds command. What I mean is, my best time to trade US30 is from 4 pm UTC after daylight saving or from 5 pm UTC+1 during daylight savings).

The best time to trade US30 (Dow Jones) in South Africa depends mainly on when the U.S. stock market is open, because that’s when the United States market is most active and volatile.

South Africa Time: 15:30 – 17:00 (SAST)

This is the New York Stock Exchange opening session.

@headies so when the US stock exchanges are closed for business will US30 price still be moving or will the market be closed?

Yes — US30 will still move even when the U.S. stock exchanges are closed.

US30 (often called the Dow Jones index) is usually traded as a CFD or futures-based instrument, not the actual stock exchange itself.

Just go to your US30 chart, set your timezone to UTC, wait for the 16:00 candle to form (on any timeframe) then start trading.

Major US Stock exchanges like Nasdaq, NYSE etc. open for trading by 9:30 (EST) in the morning which converts to 4:30 pm South African TIme and this opening is usually greeted with a burst of activity and you may see a spike on the charts. So, South African US30 traders should be on seat from 4:30 pm SAST (which is the best time to trade US30 ) so they can take advantage of this opening move

Here is another example. This is the US30 chart for today, and you can appreciate the burst of activity when US stock exchanges open

The best time to trade US30 is when the NYSE opens which is from 3:30 pm UTC+2 in South African time. Once the NYSE opens, there is very high volatility which you can ride to make quick profit.
