Price has closed outside the early trading range (black box) so I am close to making a decision

Buy 24,724

SL 24,671

I just took a long trade, with details above. My exit strategy is when price gets to the upper edge of the box, I will adjust SL to secure profit and let it run

I thought this indice moves the same way with ustech or is there a unique difference?

The difference is in the time and volatility. I trade DE40 in the mornings because that is when the Xetra exchange opens in Frankfurt. Whereas I trade Nasdaq in the afternoon because that's when I can catch the American open time of the Nasdaq stock exchange.

Then for volatility, DE40 is not as volatile as NAS100 or US30. DE40 moves more slowly I call it the EUR/USD of the indices world

For example todays trade has not moved much since I opened it in the morning, the volatility for DE40 is low. If it were NAS100, it would have rallied several points by now

Okay, because I was getting confused since they are indice then why is DE40 sometimes weaker than Ustech but their structural look in the higher timeframe is almost the same

I guess DE40 is slowing down cos manufacturing in Germany is facing stiff competition from China especially with China rolling out cheap Electric Vehicles. This is just my opinion I am not an expert

The Xetra exchange has opened and I boxed out the early trading 8 - 9 am hour. Price interacted with the upper edge of the box forming a bearish pattern so I sold.

Short DE40 @ 24,849

SL @ 24,896

TP @ 24,731

My TP is targeting the gap formed between yesterday and todays trading

Got stopped out for a small loss then I switched bias to buy. The reason why I bought was because on its way up, price retested the edge of the box before continuing upwards. So, I bought after that little pullback i encircled in blue. The pullback is significant because it happened at the edge of the box

For clarity, this was the retest I was referring to, it was my buy trigger. The edge of the box was retested before price went upwards so it was a buy trigger for me

I am up $12 and I have been able to recover my previous $5.8 loss and still make an additional $6 profit. I am closing the trade here and preparing to trade NY session

The Xetra stock exchange has opened in Frankfurt (9 am) and I have boxed out the early trading hour of 8 - 9 am. I will now wait for a breakout from the box then decide what to do

The breakout has happened, so now we wait for either a bearish reversal pattern or a bullish continuation pattern before we trade

BUY 25,106

SL 25,045

price tried to reverse, but the reversal failed and I entered after the break of bearish engulfing

I like the patience, Waiting for the bearish reversal to fail before entering adds confirmation instead of anticipation. The defined invalidation at 25045 also keeps the risk structured, but Dax is currently moving downwards since it's a new month maybe price is trying to rebalance

The Xetra stock exchange opened by 9 am this morning and I have isolated the early trading & auction period between 8 and 9 am . EU unemployment data is being released in 27 minutes, so I will wait till it is released before deciding the direction to trade
