DAY 10 Trade Journal (1) (Friday, 21st August)

Asset: USDJPY
Trade Type-Long Setup Update.

Execution- instant
Analysis TF- D1/4hr/1hr/15mins

Entry 1- 159.04
SL- 158.87
TP-160.33

Comment: I took a heavy loss on this trade, cause I didn't keep to my trading plan. I adjusted my SL trying to accommodate the losses and this is one of the common mistakes that prop firm traders do and eventually breach their accounts. This was my dilemma as well, as I ended up risking the daily loss limit, and breached the account.

DAY 9 Trade summary on the Account.
I took 3 trade setups on the Account today.

CADJPY (buys), EURJPY (buys), and AUDJPY (buys)

Total number of positions- 5
5 losses.

Trade Result: -$433.75
Commission: -$45
Total= -$478.57
EOD Account Balance: $97,478

Comment: All trade setups played out and are still going as expected, the losses were completely personal errors. My plan was to clear up the remaining losses today and it would have worked out, If I didn't feel burned out. But tomorrow is another day to take up the task.
Trading Every day is really tasking, it's a new challenge for me, and a process I can't avoid. Some days we make our best, other days, we just get through it. I'll definitely adjust fully to it.

From my Dashboard Today, My Average RRR is at 2.04rrr, my discipline gone up to 64, and my win rate is at 25%. And I've taken 40 trades so far.

DAY 10 Trade summary on the Account.
I took 1 trade setups on the Account today.

USDJPY (buys)
Total number of positions- 2

Trade Result: -$4975.31
Commission: -$100
Total= -$5075.31

EOD Account Balance: $92403.11

Comment: My 42nd trade was the deal breaker on the account. Because I didn't want to close in a loss and was so eager in taking the account out of drawdown, I opened 10 standard lot, 2 positions on the trade setup. When I started seeing reversal signals that should have made me cut the loses short or still keep to my max 2% risk, I ignored it and rather adjusted the SL in a bit to contain the losses and with expectation that price will reverse until I adjusted to the daily limit.
I broke my trading plan and paid dearly for it, costing me the account.

None of us controls the market, but we can control our trading choices, but more often than not, we fall victims of ourselves and decisions that wrecks our trading, and this is one of those decisions. The one time that that trading plan is broken, can be the last time for the account, but also remember it is a big opportunity to sit, learn and correct your mistakes, and improve on your process.

My lessons: As a trader, discipline must be a daily choice. I shouldn't be disciplined today, and loose guard tomorrow. I must always be on guard, and it must become a character that is put to use every day. The discipline required as a day-trader, is different from the discipline required as a swing trader, because it must be exercised every day, not random days, and be able to accommodate the daily mental pressure, and still stay on the winning edge.
My discipline score on the dashboard has been the only stats increasing, and that has been very encouraging.
Friday was a tough one, but I'll open another Account and try again, this time with a new trading plan and I'll focus more on improving the win rate and profit factor.

FTMO $100K Challenge Result 2026 Vs $FTMO $10k Challenge Result 2025.

This current trial that I had just breached, made me reference back to a trial I took last year, and compare the results. The past results are shown in the pictures.
Win rate-44.90 Profit factor-1.37. Number of trades-147. Average RRR-1.68. Discipline score 81%
I traded the 14 days completely. profit: $334.50 (3.3%).

This is proof that past or present results does not always guarantee future performance in trading.
Trading as a career is a process and through the good and bad times, we must keep going and not give up, it's not about being profitable, it's about staying profitable. And one bad month result, or one good month result does not define the entire process. Just keep showing up, as long as there are results, it can only get better. Learn, adjust and improve daily.

Nice one, the problem with the FTMO free trial challenge is that the 14-day ultimatum can put pressure on you to take on too much risk. I also didn't meet up the profit target. But some valuable lessons were learnt.

NO DAILY PAUSE FEATURE

FTMO does not have a daily pause feature, which means even after a big loss they still allow you to trade emotionally.

LACK OF TRANSPARENCY ON FEES

FTMO could do better by clearly stating the spread for each instrument and also stating which instruments attract commissions and which do not.

My Challenge with their services is the area of Account graph. They should show the equity curve and the account balance curve differently on the same graph.
But generally, A lot of other features are helpful and resourceful.

I've also noticed that they don't send notifications like margin calls, or warnings that the account is about to be breached, or after the breached. This usually helps, especially if one was busy and the notification can make you quickly check and manage your positions.
Accounts can be flagged red, or notifications sent, prior to these events.

Also, FTMO do not show the daily reset timer, for daily drawdowns. This often helps to know when to pause trading for the day, if you're close to breaching an account within the daily drawdown limit. One can close all trades and wait till the timer resets before resuming trading again.
