How Do I Take Partial Profit on MT5 Without Closing The Trade?

I know Take Profit orders are meant for exiting/closing a trade when I make a certain amount of profit but what if I want to withdraw profit while the trade is still running/active? How do I take some of my realized profit on MT5 without having to close the trade?

STEP 1: Edit Your Order

Double click on your order so you can edit it. A shortcut for this is to double click on the order line on your chart which will open up the dialogue box you see in the screenshot attached here.

When the dialogue box opens, select "Market Execution"

STEP 2: Specify lot size you want to take profit for

Input the volume or lot size you want to take partial profit for. In this example I had opened a 0.5 lot trade & wanted to take partial profit for 0.03 lots so I simply inputted 0.03 in the volume box.

Click on the "Close by Market" button to complete the action and take partial profit. Check the history of your trading account and you will see you have been credited with the partial profit.

You are missing out oh, execution on TradingView is sweet. Get you a broker that has TradingView

You need to go to the active trade and double click on it to modify it. When modifying it, enter the lot size you want to take profit for, and select "market order", then click on "close" to complete the process. This procedure is for MT5. You will notice that the trade will still be active but the lot size would have been reduced and your floating profit would have been reduced too.

This is the daily timeframe zone that caused the current bullish momentum in the EUR/USD market.

I'll be dropping the full analysis soon as a Thread,do well to check it out.

TradingView’s built-in execution is clean and feels way more natural than jumping between platforms.

Ditch brokers without native integration and go with ThinkMarkets, Pepperstone or IC Markets for zero hassle and fast fills.

But sticking to what using isn't bad though.

Does taking partial profit work on TradingView?

Yes, taking partial profits works on TradingView.

How it's Done: Turn off “Instant order placement” in Trading settings, click the X on your open position, tick “partial close”, and choose how many units to exit. Or set multiple TP levels for automatic scaling.
