I was able to register with my email and create a user profile but i still had to open an actual trading account.
When trying to choose an exness trading account type to suit my scalping needs, i was presented with a list of so called standard and professional accounts.
The standard exness accounts were cheap to open requiring just $10 minimum deposit, but the exness professional accounts had an outrageous minimum deposit of $500.
It wasn't also helpful that exness didn't state the average spreads on the account opening page, instead they just stated the minimum spread.
For those who are not familiar with minimum spread, it is the lowest spread you can get on a good day but in reality, there are not a lot of good days in forex so you will rarely get the minimum spread. You will always get charged something higher.
To find out the true exness starting spread I will be getting charged, I had to check the EUR/USD instrument page where exness actually stated the average spread of 0.9 pips for their Standard Account. (Why didn't they just state the average spread on the initial account opening page?)
For those who do not know, EUR/USD is the benchmark spread in forex, meaning EUR/USD is the cheapest instrument to trade and always has the lowest spread of any broker. So, I knew that most of the time, i should expect to be charged spreads of 0.9 pips and above if i traded with exness.
In the end, I had to cut my coat according to my budget and i chose the exness standard account because the minimum deposit was $10 and also because the account came in naira currency (which is my local currency here in Nigeria).
