“The 1 Rule That Saved My Trading Account - What’s Yours?”

*Thread Title: “The 1 Rule That Saved My Trading Account - What’s Yours?”*

*Post:*

After 3 blown accounts, I finally listened to 1 rule:

*“Never risk more than 1% per trade. Ever.”*

That single rule turned me from gambler to trader. Before it, I was doubling lots after every loss. After it, I could lose 10 trades in a row and still be alive.

So traders, real talk:

*What’s the ONE trading rule that saved your account or made you profitable?*

Could be:

1. Always use SL

2. No trading first 5min of news

3. Max 2 trades per day

4. Trade with trend only

Drop your #1 rule below 👇 New traders need this more than another strategy.

I try to use the 2% rules, though it has not been easy, The single best rule that saves trading accounts from total ruin is 2% Risk Rule. It limits your risk to a maximum of 2% of your total account on any single trade. This ensures that one bad trade will never destroy your account and your account will not come to zero.

“Well said. The 2% risk rule is a cornerstone of capital preservation. It’s not designed to maximize gains, it’s designed to ensure longevity.

One bad trade should never dictate your trading career. By capping risk at 2%, you give your strategy room to play out statistically. Even a 10-trade losing streak only draws down ∼18% of the account, leaving enough capital to recover.

The challenge is execution, not calculation. Discipline in applying the 2% rule consistently is what separates a sustainable trader from a blown account. Stick with it. It’s the most boring rule, and the most profitable one long term.”
