And one should sell when

A. At key resistance zones, as support is to buy, resistance is to sell. Where price rallies in a major support turned resistance.

B. Confirmed downtrends and this is when the downtrend is printing lower lows and lower highs so as to Favour your setup/ trade in the market

When buying or selling, one should look at support and resistance, as support favours buying and resistance supports selling.

Also at the trends, downtrend for sellers, uptrend for buyers.

Do not trade with emotions

Before entering trade, check the following:

Trend: Is the market generally going up, down, or sideways?

Support and resistance: Where has price previously reacted?

Entry signal: Do you have a clear reason to enter?

Risk-to-reward: Is the potential profit worth the amount you're risking?

Stop-loss: Where will you exit if the trade goes against you?

Take-profit: Where will you take your profit?

News/events: Important economic or company news can cause large price movements.

Your trading plan: Does the trade actually meet your rules?

Simple rule: Don't enter just because the price is moving. Have a clear setup.

What is a trading strategy?

A trading strategy is a set of rules that tells you:

When to enter → where to place your stop-loss → where to take profit → when to exit.

Example of a simple educational strategy:

Trend + Support/Resistance

Identify the overall trend.

Wait for price to reach support/resistance.

Wait for confirmation.

Enter according to your rules.

Set your stop-loss.

Set your target.

Record the result.

When should you buy or sell?

There is no single time that is always correct.

Buy when your strategy gives a valid bullish signal—for example, price confirms a move upward from a support area.

Sell when your strategy gives a valid bearish signal—for example, price confirms a move downward from resistance.

For stocks, "sell" can also simply mean taking profit or reducing a position; short-selling is a separate concept.
