What happens if I deposit the wrong amount into my trading account?

Today, I deposited $30 instead of $20 into my trading account with a broker. The broker only credited my trading account with $20. Please anyone had this experience, how was it resolved? How do I get the extra $10 back?

Thanks guys, they refunded the differential the next day.

Very useful thread, if this ever happens to me I know not to panic.

I reached out to the customer support unit and they asked me to send a mail with proof of payement but I dont know how long this is going to drag on for.

I have not experienced this before though but you did the right thing by contacting their support personnel. I want to believe they will resolve it soon.

The broker wiil send the difference of $10 back to you, it has happened to me before. This is why it is important to trade with tier-1 regulated brokers only.

It happened to me with the broker FxPro, they put the right amount into my trading account and sent the excess deposit back to my bank account within 30 minutes.

Just pray you didnt make the deposit via Card because it would take you almost one month for the broker to reverse it. Card withdrawals are very problematic.

Don't panic the broker has systems to sort this out, they will refund the difference before the end of the business day if not they will see it as an overage or imbalance when closing their books for the day.
