It depends on what you mean by profitable though; exotic pairs are very profitable, but their spread is very high. I would rather trade pairs with lower spread and less volatility like eurusd.

Most profitable pair for now is the XAUUSD Although very volatile but with minimal lot size and good management strategy you are good .

I disagree with what is being discussed here. There is no such thing as most profitable currency pair.

For trader A, trading EURUSD could be more profitable. For another trader, trading DAX could be most profitable.

The reason I think is that a real professional trader would have spent countless number of hours trading & watching the price movements of his/her active instrument in his/her active session. This is how you find what works for you & what does not.

The profit then comes from scaling up. The higher number of pips does not guarantee higher profits. You can only be making 600 pips on EURUSD in a year, and be extremely profitable, if you know when to size up & when to size down.

Everyone has their preferred trading instrument in which they are most proficient and profitable. So there is not one suit that fits all.

Some like ranging markets so they trade those instruments that range EURGBP etc. Some love volatility so they trade the Nas100 or US30. Some are fans of Gold trading.

It depends on what you can understand and your comfort zone.

Hope this helps..

I beleive profit comes when you find a good strategy on any forex pair/instrument. So for me, none is more profitablr than the other.

The truth all currency pair can be profitable, none is more profitable than another. The profitability of a currency pair depends totally on the trader. It entails you having a strategy that has edge and stick to it .

You also need to pay attention to the currency pair that works super well with your strategy and stick to it.

I guess the relevant question to be asked is "which currency pair is the least volatile" because when a pair is not too volatile, your risk is lower leading to a chance for more winning trades. So I think EUR/USD is the least volatile pair to trade and another good thing with it is that it has the lowest spreads of any currency pair and the liquidity is high since market makers always use eur/usd options to hedge their fx exposure.
