what are synthetic indices?
Replied 4 months ago -
If synthetic indices are not real, does it not mean it is like trading a demo account?

what did jamie dimon say about the bond market?
Replied 4 months ago -
He said something about US bonds no longer being AAA rated but that they have been downgraded to AA. He also said borrowing during covid 19 has put an enormous interest rate burden on US so the bond market is overburdened

apy vs interest rate: do they mean the same thing?
Replied 4 months ago -
No, they don't. Interest rate on your account is simply a figure showing the interest you will earn annually while the APY is a projection of the monthly interest plus compound interest you will earn on the account for a period of one year if you don't make any withdrawal from the account.

do banks need brokers to trade forex?
Replied 4 months ago -
I don't think they do; banks have an inter-bank software they use to connect them to other banks whom they trade with.

how many trading days in a year, does Sunday count?
Replied 4 months ago -
I had the same question a while back and found it depends on the year and holidays, but I usually plan around 252 trading days. I’ve been using prop firms lately, and this breakdown helped me set monthly targets. If you're checking out firms, this review of TraderScale gave me a good idea of what to expect: https://tradelytic.com/prop-firms/reviews/traderscale/.

what is the success rate of funded traders?
Replied 4 months ago -
Around 2% because the prop firms will look for every reason to deny you a payout, they will try to accuse you of breaking one of their rules.

do we expect too much from technical indicators?
Replied 4 months ago -
I suspect brokers are the ones behind the development of indicators so that 95% of traders will keep losing. Why the heck will I rely on a Christmas tree to show me something that has already happened when i could have seen it in real time using price action?

What are the best indicators for deciding when to buy or sell?
Replied 4 months ago -
I rely on price action to tell me when to enter/exit I don't depend on indictors because they are always giving delayed information. By the time your beloved indicator tells you to buy, price action traders have already bought and exited the trade with profit.

what is a block trade & why is it done in private?
Replied 4 months ago -
I think block trades have to do with the dark pool where certain futures/option contracts are not pre-disclosed to the public so that market volatility is not compromised.
Block trades are usually executed for eligible investors only and the block minimum threshold usually specified by the exchange ensures that futures/options contract must have a very large volume in order to qualify for block trade execution.

why should i use low leverage when trading forex, any advantages?
Replied 5 months ago -
Low leverage ensures you don't make silly trades because every time you want to open a position, the broker will ask for high margin collateral. Low leverage helps you become a more serious trader instead of just gambling away.
