after nfp, how long before spreads return to normal? Replied 7 months ago - If the first 5-minute candle after nfp release is very big, then typically volatility should die down in around 15 minutes and spreads will return to normal conditions. But if the first 5-minute candle is small then volatility may persist another 20 minutes before it subsides. This is just my observation

how does after hours trading work? Replied 7 months ago - I guess it depends on what you are trading. For stocks, the exchanges close around 4 pm so any stocks you trade after that are done during aftermarket hours. Not all stockbrokers may support aftermarket hours trading & the ones who do may charge higher fees. Not every order may be filled during aftermarket hours as some brokers only permit pending orders so that if they can fill it they do and if they cannot fill it, they leave it unfilled. For forex, aftermarket trading is when you trade outside the 4 major sessions (Sydney, Tokyo, London, New York). For example, in-between the Asian and the London session, there is a 2-hour gap which some call the Frankfurt session or the Pre-London session. If you trade during this time, it could be considered aftermarket hours trading. People who participate in aftermarket hours trading are the ones who are busy during the market hours, perhaps they have day jobs that don't allow them to trade when others are trading.

At Binomo, you can trade options on different assets such as currencies, commodities etc. Binomo minimum deposit is $10 and you can trade some instruments by providing an initial margin as low as $1.

do you use take profit or do you exit trades manually? Replied 7 months ago - I always use take profit because i once had a bad experience where i was up 50 pips before i lost my internet connection and by the time it was restored the trade was in a loss.

what is a carry trade in forex? Replied 7 months ago - Let me add to what @randolf has said. If you do not carry a trade properly you won't earn any interest, in fact you will be debited for the interest rate differential instead. Whether you earn overnight interest on a carry trade depends on if you are buying or selling the currency pair. In @randolf's example, USD/ZAR interest rate is 4.5% vs 7.25% so to earn interest you must sell the USD/ZAR pair and leave the trade open overnight. If you go ahead and buy USD/ZAR overnight, you will be debited instead because you are borrowing ZAR to buy USD, meaning you are borrowing ZAR with higher interest to buy USD with lower interest.

How to fund forex account Replied 7 months ago - MT4 does not have a deposit button, to fund your MT4 account you need to login to your brokers mobile app or their website and access your client area then make the deposit from there. If you have a savings account, select the bank transfer funding method from your client area, input the amount & an account number will appear. Transfer money from your savings account to that account number and wait for some minutes for it to reflect in your MT4 trading account.

head and shoulder pattern Replied 7 months ago - The head and shoulders pattern looks so different in reality, sometimes the shoulders are barely the same height and can look crooked. But head & shoulders is a reliable candlestick pattern if you can spot it early.

why xauusd is not moving today? Replied 7 months ago - XAU/USD has been trading within a range this week, and i suspect it has to do with trade tensions which are a fall out of the israel- Iran conflict. The United States has not yet made it clear if they will join in the war, so investors do not know if to run to gold or if to keep their investments in the us dollar.

what are the qualities of a good trader? Replied 7 months ago - I would say being a good observer is a good quality for a trader to have. You know how we play spot the difference where you are given two images and asked to find out a difference? Thats kind of like what i mean. Looking at the charts, a good trader should be able to spot areas of similarities quickly.

why don't brokers stop you from trading after reaching your daily loss limit? Replied 7 months ago - I agree with this but i guess it is not in the brokers interest to do so. They want you to trade as much as possible, so they get their fees. I mean, you even see brokers opening their platforms to traders on some public holidays (like Easter) when they know fully well that liquidity may be insufficient leading to higher spreads.

how reliable is fibonacci retracement indicator? Replied 7 months ago - Its pretty reliable and works for me, been using it for years now. You just need to know how to draw the Fib line correctly and it displays possible levels where price should retrace. We should not expect too much of Fib or any indicator and shouldn't use them in isolation. Indicators should be used alongside commonsense price action.
