What is the trade idea? Why are you buying?

I shorted Nas 100; it wasn't long position. That was a mistake and I quickly corrected it.
Entry: 31217
Exit: 31114

Result: I broke my "4hr duration rule" today, and it is really painful, because it affected my wins. But that's why every day is a learning day, not just a trading day, so I'll just sit back and study. I'm done trading today.

I know and am fully aware

Alright.
I didn't maximize the win, because I broke my "4hr duration rule" despite that I was sure of the setup, and that's because of an external factor that acted on my confidence energy today and that affected my mood today, making me close all my trades, when I was not supposed to.
But I'm refocusing and rebalancing the energy, although I won't be trading again today, but will just study the charts and my trades.

US 100 Trade Summary (Wed, 7th Oct 2026)

The trade setup played out perfectly as expected, but my result today from the setup was very poor.
I ended up not maximizing my wins, because I broke my "4hr duration rule". This means, I didn't hold the trade for minimum 4hrs before making the decision to exit.
I woke up confident and energetic today and got on the charts. But along the line, some thoughts (external factor) came along, and affected that energy. This destabilized my mind, and I became pessimistic about the trade setup and closed out.

This is a lesson for me and a painful one, because I would have been a step higher on my goal today, if I didn't pay attention to my thoughts and exited the trade.
But I'm refocusing and rebalancing the energy, although I won't be trading again today, but will just study the charts and my trades.
From my Entry at 31215, I was planning for an exit at 30816, where I expected the 4hr momentum to drive to, but the current price Low at 30960 would have been a better time for exit, because the current 4hr would be closing by 2.00pm.
I had 3 positions running with 0.1 lot size.
My Risk at my SL level (31280) was 0.15% and my profit target was 1.2% for this particular trade setup, but from current price low, would have given me 0.6%-0.7% of the account.

Nevertheless, I keep learning and improving every day.

Closing out in profit is not bad , I understand you feel bad that you didn't hold to your target, but it's fine that is better than closing out in loss

It's not bad, but it's just painful. Repeating mistakes that shouldn't be repeated is what I consciously train my mind to overcome because it gives the assurance that you've learnt from those mistakes and moved on to another growth stage.
And as a trader, I endeavour to grow every day.

I'm still following the Analysis up. Price is currently reacting at a demand zone that was formed yesterday. watching to see if it will give a continuation entry for Sells at 30996, or a reversal entry for buys at 31058
Invalidation level for the sell will be 31,100, while the invalidation level for the Buy will be 30,900

You will have to break below 30996 level to short Nasdaq

That's right.
But price respected the level and signalled for longs instead. I'll still wait for entries to go long at 31056, with SL 30949. Expecting price to revisit it tomorrow.

Price should retrace down into that supply, but buying from there should be with a confirmation.

Despite the heavy sells, price is still heavily bullish.
It respected the high at 31056, and I'll be expecting continuation entries for long positions at that price level tomorrow with my SL below today's low at 30,949.

How much did you lose?

I didn't lose on the position. Price didn't get anywhere near my SL at 31280. I just didn't maximize my profits from the setup because I exited way too early.
From my Entry Zone (31217-31226) to where price reversed would have resulted in about 0.8% profit.
