US30 trading strategy

« Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6

I have a simple us30 trading strategy where I use sessions as ranges. The idea behind this is to note the high and low of each session then see if the incoming session breaks the high/low of the previous session then trade the break.

Step 1: Switch to a US30 H1 Timeframe and Insert Period Separators

On the US30 chart, switch to the 1 hour timeframe then insert period separators so that every period indicates one day.

Step 2: Mark the highest & lowest prices attained for each session

Next, I use a yellow rectangle to mark the highest price reached during the Asian session which started at 1:00 am and ended around 5:00 am.

I also use a blue rectangle to mark the highest and lowest price reached during the London session which started around 7:00 am and ended around 5:00 pm.

I didn't mark the New York session because that is the session i want to trade hypothetically

Step 3: Switch to 15M timeframe and wait for breakout

I wait for price to breach the lowest price reached during London session then trade the breakout after the first 15 minute candle forms.

The same thing would have applied if the price breached the highest price reached during the LON session then I would have bought instead of sell.

Let me add, on US30, each session either fades or follows the previous sessions.

The pre-open 1H is really important at the start of the session. You will notice that they will try to push it to the nearest levels to break it to fade it on the opening.

See the example of NY open today & the pre 1H. Use 5M as the entry trigger for small SLs, because if you are wrong, then you are mostly likely against the trend of the session.

I am looking at the US30 chart on the 5 min timeframe. We are 1 hour into the New York session which is still trading inside the London range at the moment.

So the London session is basically over and we are in the New York session proper. I think I'm gonna wait for price to breakout of the London range then see what happens.

We finally see a break out of the lower range of the London session which is a sell signal

Today price has broken out of yesterday's London session low and has reversed upwards, presenting a buying opportunity.

Another buy opportunity on US30 after price breaks out of yesterdays London session range.

Trade Nation is what I use.

US30 trade analysis for yesterday.

Although I didnt trade US30 yesterday, this is what I would have done. I would mark out the London range from 8 am to 4 pm UTC then wait for a breakout and trade the reversal.

Pls when is the best time to trade US30?

I would say the best time to trade US30 depends on where you are resident. For Nigerian traders, the best time is after the London session has closed so anywhere from 5pm to 9 pm in the night.

US30 still falling. Anyone who had sold at the 49,472 points high would have been in good profit by now.
