When Is The Best Time To Trade Forex in South Africa for Low Spreads? Replied 6 months ago - Trade 1-hour before the London session opens or you can trade the first 1-hour of the London session open, you are bound to get tighter spreads and higher liquidity during these times. Personally I don't like trading in the afternoon because that is when they always release all sorts of news on TV and this news can affect the market equilibrium and cause spreads to become higher.

trendline trading strategy Replied 6 months ago - Start drawing the trend line from the begining of the trend, and make good that the trend line touches the pullbacks on the trend (see blue circle in chart image). Remember to use the "trend line tool" to draw your trend lines, you can find it in your toolbox panel

How to get perfect entry in forex Replied 6 months ago - its smart to always enter whenever prices closes below or above a notable opening or closing price in the past. For example we are in 2025 so if you notice price has fallen lower and closed below the closing price of 2024, then it may be time to sell. Take a look at the sp500 yearly chart i attached, each cande represents one year. You will notice that in 2025 the candle is red (bearish) and has closed below the 2024 closing price which signifies intense selling pressure. if you time your entry immediately after price has breached the 2024 high and retested it, it would be a perfect entry because the risk will be low as chances of price reversing back up immediately would be slim. You can place your stop loss at least 10 pips above 2024 closing price. This example also applies to monthly charts, weekly charts etc.

how long do scalpers hold trades Replied 7 months ago - been scalping for a year now and it depends on the instrument im scalping. if i am scalping volatile instruments like crypto i hod the trade for 10 seconds max. However for non-volatil instruments like currency pairs i hold the trade for about 30seconds to 1 minute max.

does smc trading strategy really have an edge in forex? Replied 8 months ago - Hi Segun, in my opinion I think the smc trading strategy brouhaha does not work because I dont think anyone can predict when banks are trading by merely looking at charts. Its all a conspiracy theory and I would rather stick to traditional price action trading than give into smart money concept & ict trading strategy conspiracy theories.

How to trade NFP in forex Replied 8 months ago - I use a similar strategy as @Arthur I wait at the 15 minute time frame for the first NFP candle to form then after it forms, its upper wick is marked as my resistance and tits lower wick is marked as my support. I wait for price to reach the support/resistance and bounce off before I trade. As you can see in the image, after the first NFP 15 minute candle, price fell and touched the support line below then started rising so in such a case you go long.

How to trade London session forex, is there a strategy to profitably trade the London session in forex? Replied 9 months ago - I use this simple breakout strategy to trade the London session. I simply mark the high/low of the Asian session on a H1 chart and wait for a breakout during the London session then trade the break. The logic behind this is that one of the busiest times of the London session is early in the morning when the traders in the bug banks in London are just opening for work. My thinking is that they place the big orders early in the morning so this can cause a breakout from the Asian session range. I want to add that no strategy is foolproof but this works for me most of the time.

When is The Best Time To Trade Nasdaq (NAS100) in Nigeria? Replied 9 months ago - If you are looking to trade the NY session, then you can trade NASDAQ from 3PM Nigerian time to 8PM. Or if you have a strategy for trading during London session, then you can trade from 9AM. CFD brokers allow 24 hour trading on NAS100 or US100. There is no right or wrong time to trade NASDAQ index. If you have a particular strategy on NASDAQ that has an edge during London open (minus brokerage cost), then you would trade it at that time. But if you have no edge, and trade randomly, and follow no loss limits, then also it does not matter when you trade it. So, first ask yourself, do you know something (and have tested it) that will give you net net positive returns from trading NASDAQ? Then decide what is right time to trade it. Volatility may not always be on your side.

How to know when to buy or sell in forex Replied 9 months ago - No, there is no hard & fast rule on when to get & when to get out. It depends entirely on your trading strategy. Also, for how long you should hold, it depends as well on your strategy. There is no straightforward answer in my opinion. For example, if you have a strategy that tries to capture the momentum on US30 during US open, then you would get in before that with a small SL as per your strategy. And you will exit it based on your set of rules, like first opposite signal or profit based exit. First decide what you want to trade & why? Are you familiar with how it moves, when it moves. Then develop a strategy that will give you an edge. An edge is when you take more money out than how much you put in. And remember that your equity is everything. Don't lose it on punting on a single trade. Otherwise you will definitely lose it all.

How to trade CPI in forex Replied 9 months ago - Update: The CPI first 15M fade trade was okay today with small SL. The high & low of the first 15M of the CPI news. The Fade move is to take the first opposite PA, which was the Bullish engulfing 5M. The idea is to trade a low SL, so only trade the edges or a break. The other move is to trade a break, where you wait for a break to one side of the 15M.

Best Time For XAUUSD Trading in South Africa Replied 9 months ago - XAUUSD CFD (Gold) is most active from 4PM-7PM South African time i.e. the NY session hours. You can also trade gold during the London session from 8AM to 1PM. But on 3 out of 5 days in a week, it is not strongly trending in a direction. Refer to the attached example of the session on XAUUSD instrument during last Friday's trading. The one marked with box is the NY session trading. If you notice, the London session was mostly sideways. But there are risks as well, because it is very news driven during NY session. From what I'm seeing, there is high volatility, so you can lose big really quickly. I don't trade gold CFDs, so I don't think I can add further value. But what I'm explained above is only based on observation of the sessions. If you are actively looking to trade gold, you must first develop a strategy that you can execute without thinking, rather than discretion. It can even be during London session, or Asian, if that has an edge for you. So, there is no straight answer of when you should be trading it. It depends on what works for you, and do you have an edge in trading it.

Is there a Best Time To Trade XAUUSD In Kenya? Replied 9 months ago - Yes, but the spreads on XAUUSD are also the same at most CFD brokers during London session also. For example, the broker I trade with (I don't trade Gold), they have fixed spreads on Gold from 7 - 19 GMT time (10 AM - 10 PM Kenyan time). Which is almost all the London & NY sessions. So, I would not say that lower spreads is the only reason to trade NY hours. If you can develop a strategy with an edge on XAUUSD during London session, you can trade those hours also.
