In modern online trading, a margin call is typically delivered through one or more of these: 1. Platform Notification (most common) A pop-up alert inside your trading platform (MT4/MT5, cTrader, web app, etc.). Often the first and only warning you get. 2. Email Notification Many brokers send an automatic email when your margin level drops below the required threshold. 3. Push Notification If your broker has a mobile app, you’ll usually get a push notification on your phone. 4. SMS (less common) Some brokers let you enable SMS alerts. 5. Actual Phone Call (rare nowadays) This used to be common when trading was done through human desks. Today, phone calls are generally reserved for large/priority accounts or when the broker needs to urgently reach you — but this is not typical for standard retail accounts.

It seems that you were sizing up on a trade, the outcome of which you are unable to accept. You learn this the hard way, never ever risk more than your daily, weekly or similar limits. It keeps you in the game. As long as you have the capital, you have the chance. But if you punt it on a single outcome, there is going to be a trade that will take it all & you don't recover from it. Also, I want to ask, was there a mechanical signal? Or was it discretion? Confidence comes from data over time, not from being right. You weren't "wrong" today, you just had one outcome in a distribution of thousands. Trade the process. The results always follow. Start with 20 trades rules, and only have the capital that you are okay with losing in those 20 days. So, even if you lose that in the next 20 trades, you don't feel bad.

how many trades should you do a day forex? Replied 3 weeks ago - I TAKE JUST ONE TRADE IN A DAY. IF THE TRADE HAPPENS TO BE A WIN, I CLOSE FOR THE DAY. IF THE TRADE WAS A LOSS, I LOOK FOR ONE MORE SETUP THAT MEETS ALL MY CRITERIA AND I WILL EXECUTE.

when should i exit a losing position to cut my losses early? Replied 3 weeks ago - I exit a losing position when it has gotten to my invalidation zone. Based on my strategy, I have invalidation zones where I place my stoploss. The moment price gets to those zones, technically I know the setup won’t play out.

if i get stopped out of a trade, should i jump in again? Replied 3 weeks ago - For me I think it depends on the circumstances. I can jump back into a trade after my SL is hit but I will trade in the opposite direction and not in the same direction. The logic behind this is when I take a trade and I see that I was wrong I dont jump out prematurely I wait for SL to be hit after which I trade the opposite direction of strength. If I bought then I notice the market is trending downward, I will just wait for my SL to be hit then reverse direction.

what is stop out level & why does it matter in trading Replied 3 weeks ago - But to be fair to the broker 0% stop out level is not bad but it should be made an option instead of mandatory. A low stop out level gives your trade enough time to recover from a loss.
